Uncanny Carnival.
A shadowy tent rises over the city skyline, Its black and white stripes peeking through the fog. The outcasts and the unwanted have arrived with an allure begging you to take a peak behind the curtain. Nothing is quite what it seems, the mundane is magical and the magical is smoke and mirrors. Inspired by Sideshow eccentricity, subcultures evolving over the centuries, bohemian poets and punk angst through an uncanny lens- the carnival has come come to town.
Our color palette leans into: black and white stripes, red and gold, faded tattered muted tones, to rich jewel tones. Nothing is quite what it seems.
From studs, leather and stripes, to rich jewel tones and tattered neutrals, this texture rich world shares an abundance of hypnotizing seduction. -
In order to maintain Cabaret Atelier’s standards of professionalism, safety, and inclusivity, we request that all performers abide by the following standards during rehearsals, performances, and in the theater. These parameters are set to support your growth as a performer.
Performers will refrain from the use of alcohol and other mind-altering substances until after performances are done for the day. We may remove you from the performance if you appear to be intoxicated or are seen using any mind-altering substances at rehearsals or performances. Please no vaping inside the theater.
No self-deprecating or talking about bodies. Be mindful of making comments about bodies/appearances, including and especially your own, whether positive or negative in nature. We want the focus to be on the amazing things our bodies can do!
Limit sexual comments, flirting, and PDA. We love how much you all love each other! But in order to maintain a professional and inclusive performance space, we ask that you save it for outside of rehearsal and performance spaces.
Do not touch props that do not belong to you to help ensure that performers will find their props in their expected condition and location.
Limit talking & be respectful. Limit talking to necessary communications for the performance, and keep your voice down. Before speaking, ask yourself if what you have to say is a want or a need. Ask yourself if it’s something the whole group needs to hear, or if you can identify one or two people to speak to directly. Ask yourself if the person you’re speaking to seems occupied with something else.
Respect consent ALWAYS. With your cast, crew, and audience members.
Be a team player and be willing to adapt. It’s never personal.
Promptly communicate any concerns to the production team or to Cybele. If there is any concern about Code of Conduct violations, about safety, or anything else, don’t hesitate to communicate. We want to help.
